Phase/faze

Isn't the correct spelling "faze" in "They don't faze me"? Rather than "phase"?

Is 'phase' a period of time? So it should be faze. Which I feel should be short for something, but not sure what.

Faze isn't short for anything, but I agree it looks like it should be.

I think that's probably why people use 'phase' incorrectly instead, because 'faze' just doesn't look right.

Thanks - always seem to see phase these days instead and it had me doubting myself!
