Hi, we're having big problems with our son's behaviour. For the last couple of years we've noticed aggressive behaviour in our son to the point where now he has full blown tantrums every day - nearly always when he is tired. And as he gets up around 6am he is tired every afternoon...
The tantrums involve hitting, kicking, verbal abuse, throwing things, biting - you name it.

We keep telling ourselves this will stop when he gets to 5 but we're beginning to think this is not just a stage...

This doesn't happen at school which is why his teachers are surprised when we have asked for their help or advice as we are at our wits end...

Please could someone either assure me that this is normal or suggest a child behaviour specialist we could try. We've tried and read lots of parenting books but the methods don't seem to work on him.

Not another book! I'll give it a go but we could start a library here...
