BBC news story. He roams the streets of Bristol at night, hunting down rogue apostrophes. That's my kind of man.

Mine too.

He spoils it for me. I get an inner glow of smug superiority whenever I see a howler.

Hassled · 03/04/2017 16:11

That's a good point - if he rids the world of rogue apostrophes, we'll have nothing to purse our lips and tut about. I'll hold off on making him a cape.

'the banksy of grammar' they called him!

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 03/04/2017 16:13

If I didn't have children I'd probably do something like this.

But I do, so I'm too tired.

originalbiglymavis · 03/04/2017 16:15

I was sat behind a van with a sicker along the lines of 'I'm fat but your ugly'. As I passed I had to yell out the window "your ugly what? WHAT??"

Hassled · 03/04/2017 16:20

I just thought I would leave this............

GoodyGoodyGumdrops · 04/04/2017 14:57

10/10

Halo
elephantoverthehill · 04/04/2017 16:36

I got 9/10, but I am off ill from work. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

9/10, but I disagree, they said it must be Jesus' hat, and not Jesus's hat, and technically either are correct.

stonecircle · 04/04/2017 16:49

Totally agree Steppemum!

steppemum · 04/04/2017 16:50

This was on the news last night. He is amazing, he carefully colour matches the paint to cover up wrong ones! He has a sponge print apostrophe on the end of a stick to mark in new ones!

The BBC site has an apostrophe quiz. I'm a good girl, I got 10/10.

GoodyGoodyGumdrops · 04/04/2017 19:12

I agree about Jesus's apostrophe - but I was fairly sure that they wouldn't. So I gave them what they wanted, even though it made my teeth itch.

originalbiglymavis · 04/04/2017 19:13

I had a Bible bashing teacher at primary so know all about Jesus and his apostrophe.

GoodyGoodyGumdrops · 04/04/2017 19:39

Didn't he have 12? Wink

ArriettyClock1 · 04/04/2017 19:43

I saw this in FB earlier - love it

How I'd love to be the equivalent on here. I could dash onto a thread, correct all the would of/could ofs and be gone under cover of virtual darkness.
