I remember this one from school illustrating how punctuation changes the meaning of a sentence:

The inspector says the teacher is a fool.

Or:

"The inspector," says the teacher, "is a fool."

I use with DS:
"Mummy," said DS, "should have all the cake" vs "Mummy said DS should have all the cake.
