A single gerbera stem in a sunny shade of yellow. Made using a mix of durable materials, It has all the charm of the real thing but none of the timely upkeep.

Tricky one.
Capital I on 'It'?

crystalgall · 30/07/2016 12:20

Capital 'I' definitely. Also is 'timely' used incorrectly here?

HateSummer · 30/07/2016 12:20

Gosh, this takes me back to the 80's! I never knew department stores still sold fake flowers...my mum used to spend hours in the plastic flower section at John Lewis Confused

Not too bothered about the comma and capital I.

crystalgall · 30/07/2016 12:21

Mine too hate! She actually does still have a giant vase full of fake flowers in the upstairs hall.

lazybones77 · 30/07/2016 12:22

It should be a full stop, not a comma.

RJnomore1 · 30/07/2016 12:22

It's a comma instead of a full stop I think.

iklboo · 30/07/2016 12:24

Never mind the comma-capital error, 'timely' isn't right either, is it?

iklboo · 30/07/2016 12:25

timely
ˈtʌɪmli/
adjective
1. done or occurring at a favourable or useful time; opportune.

toadgirl · 30/07/2016 12:25

It was the word "timely" that triggered my pedant alarm Smile

Grin crystal that's hilarious. My mum used to make us clean them aswell every few weeks...it was ridiculous Hmm

MrsHathaway · 30/07/2016 12:44

Timely for time-consuming - ugh.

crystalgall · 30/07/2016 12:55

Hurrah. I knew timely was wrong.

For the John Lewis one, I actually missed the capital I/comma thing as I was so upset about the "timely".
