Loose, really?

Sine when did Lose become Loose? I'm seeing it everywhere today (as in 'I didn't expect Remain to loose' mostly...).

I know language and spellings change so if so many people mis-spell the same word, does that become the default correct spelling?

It didn't. And I'm tempted to make a really bitchy comment about the people who are getting it wrong so I will stfu.

It makes me grind my teeth, along with rediculous.
