When did we all have to change over the US spelling of licence.

In any debate about driving or tv licences, 99% of contributors spell the noun as the verb - I assume this is from the US spelling but when did it happen?

We didn't. It's just that 99% of contributors don't know the difference between the -ice and the -ise spellings of things.

This drives (pun intended!) me bonkers.

I filled out a form yesterday that had 'drivers license'. I cringed.

UK: Driving licence
US: Driver's license
