Well according to Cambridge Dictionairies Online, the definitions are as follows, so can you give an example where apt would be better replaced by one of the others?

apt: suitable or right for a particular situation

appropriate: suitable or right for a particular situation or occasion

apposite: suitable and right for the occasion

I know, I know ! My pint is a stylistic one. It's all about context and nuance. I'll post an example when next I find one(if I remember.)
