what do you mean?
cold is an adjective if that's what you mean-it is describing the weather?

borisgudanov · 21/01/2015 17:36

Predicative adjective.

hollyisalovelyname · 21/01/2015 18:13

So 'is cold' is not a verb

Adjective

StuntBottom · 21/01/2015 18:18

'Is' is the verb, 'cold' is the adjective.

gymboywalton · 21/01/2015 18:24

A verb is an action word so if you said it is cold and snowing , snowing would be the verb.

Trickydecision · 28/01/2015 14:47

'Snowing' wouldn't be the verb, surely? It would still be 'is'. 'Snowing' must be the present participle.
