I work in a school and every teacher says this!

It drives me crazy.

Why is it so difficult?

I hate that one too. Many teachers have appauling English grammar.

Oops - I spell checked that too. Knew I'd get it wrong. At least that's a spelling mistake and not one of the grammatical ones I was moaning about clutching at straws

The teachers are certainly not common......even the Deputy Head says it.

Teacher I work with is well spoken but also says 'like' in every other sentence.

She is picking up bad habits!

It's right up there with 'what I done was...'

The best thing I heard from a schoolchild in Nottingham was: 'I don't not know nothing not no more' my head nearly exploded!

I don't know whether it is a regional UK thing, but it is all over MN. I like hearing people complain about it, though, because it is one thing that you cannot blame on Americans.

Every second post on Mumsnet seems to start 'We were stood...', 'I was sat...' How can people stand it? My jaw actually begins grinding when I read it.
