Marco Pierre White's restaurant in Highclere, Hampshire, shudder:
Herring’s á la Baltique with Salad of beetroot, sour cream, fresh horseradish.
Does it make it much worse when it's something trying to be posh?

I think the combination of English and French is awful - choose one language and stick it to it.

Is that [sic] ? ::shudder::

Chefs learn all kinds of phrases as a whole, particularly French phrases, as a shorthand for the full description. I imagine a not particularly literate chef produced that abomination and I wouldn't expect perfect writing from a chef.

But MPW's FOH team should have proofed it better before it reached a customer!

Copied and pasted, there's more:
WHEELER’S SPECIALITY’S
King Scallop's, cauliflower puree

Many other plurals have no unnecessary apostrophes, of course.

They should give you a free meal for proofing the menu! What an embarrassment.
