Just seen on another thread that this isn't right and the word is reMuNeration. I actually thought it was an april fool's joke. Can't believe I've got to 34 without knowing that. And if I'd heard anyone saying it correctly I'd have assumed they were wrong. I can't work out how you're meant to say it!

GoodnessIsThatTheTime · 01/04/2014 08:14

I've just seen that. I thought that was the american way Blush

PotatoPolly · 01/04/2014 08:14

Directors' emoluments might be as much of a tongue twister!

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2014 08:15

I consider myself to be a literate and munerate person
which is why I'm struggling

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 01/04/2014 08:19

Actually I might have been sating it the right way all along Confused but if you asked me to spell I would done it the wrong way Hmm

catkind · 01/04/2014 08:21

lol. Lots of people do this one. One friend even had it spelled from in his work contract. Think they're paying you in money not in numbers (hopefully!).

Abra1d · 01/04/2014 08:22

re-muna-rayshon is how you say it in the UK.

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2014 08:23

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 01/04/2014 08:26

Grin at Stealth. Not sure why I'm confused about it, I do my own accounts and that word pops up at least a couple of times...

Middleagedmotheroftwo · 01/04/2014 08:28

Renumeration would be changing the numbers.

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2014 08:29

S u rely this must be one of the most commonly misspelled (misspelt?) Words ever

Moreisnnogedag · 01/04/2014 08:32

Nooo. I'm on the same thread and felt like an idiot.

SconeRhymesWithGone · 01/04/2014 14:07

It's pronounced re-mewna-rayshon in the US.

StealthPolarBear · 01/04/2014 16:57

I stilk dont believe it

OP posts:
AchyFox · 06/04/2014 14:48

This is weird because renumerate is indeed a real word and means to renumber.

So bizarrely, to say "I was renumerated to the tune of $100" isn't really wrong since your finances have in fact been editted by that amount.Grin
