Is it Mother's Day or Mothers' Day?

I think the latter because it's for mums plural rather than just one mum. I'm putting it in a product so really need to get it right.

As you are a pedant you will appreciate that it is actually Mothering Sunday!

Well funnily enough I was coming on to ask that too! Personally I prefer Mothering Sunday (as does my DM) but I'm trying to aim my products at as many potential customers as possible - I want to cater for everyone and I know a lot of people prefer Mother's/Mothers' Day.

I disagree that it is "mothers' day" - for the individual concerned, who only has one mother or is the mother of the giver, it is "mother's day". However I have to say that I agree entirely with Quejica that it is actually Mothering Sunday and so, I say, should every pedant or other person who values our traditions. (It also avoids CambridgeBlue's problem.)

Mothering Sunday :)

I think it should be Mother's Day, but can see why Mothers' Day could be used.

It has to be Mothering Sunday.
