I wrote there instead of their in an email to 40 pre-school parents today. Any chance none of them noticed? I nearly wrote another email just to point out that I had noticed my mistake but thought it would make me sound very odd.

To be honest my grammar is pretty poor and my spelling is atrocious, (I love spell check) so it's only showing my true colours really.

Which would you rather be viewed as, odd or a bit crap at grammar and spelling?

ooooh I'd be considering changing schools or indeed emigrating.

Wine for you

That's a tough call, I would certainly be tempted by a follow-up, but you would definitely come across as a weirdo.

Does it help to know we on MN know you know? Grin

Odd beats bad grammar every time. Smile

It does help that you know I know PoopMaster. Grin

I think I've left it too late to follow up now. I'll just have to ensure any future emails include many combinations of their, there and they're all used correctly.

They're leaving their coats over there so that their children can reach them.

I would definitely have followed it up with an email saying that I'm sorry for the mistake. I wouldn't have been able to sleep otherwise.

For what it's worth I wouldn't have thought you odd. I would have understood. Grin
