I am posting here to vent as I have noticed this trend spreading the country and media. Even Alistair on Escape To The Country and presenters on R4 are pronouncing it this way.

Why????? Angry

There's no "p" in the middle of it, either.

Grrrr. This drives me nuts. I have a young (intelligent) colleague that says 'somethink'.

I always get him to spell it aloud, he can spell it but not say it.

PseudoBadger · 02/07/2013 19:48

No no no. It's sumfink.

JRY44 · 02/07/2013 19:49

My boss says it. Drives me mad.

WannaSplitAPineapple · 02/07/2013 19:51

This drives me insane. I am amazed by how many people write/say this grrrrrrrr

Eyesunderarock · 02/07/2013 19:52

Sumfink.
Sends a shudder down the spine.

So many verbal manglings that turn up in spellings.

GibberTheMonkey · 02/07/2013 19:52

Discusting

PseudoBadger · 02/07/2013 19:54

lelo is quite a common colour in reception as well.
Sounds very sweet, and at 4 is acceptable to me. Smile

EleanorFarjeon · 02/07/2013 19:56

My ds used to say 'lello' for yellow.

TallulahBetty · 02/07/2013 19:57

I work with a woman who says "mornink". Unsure if she's being serious or not Hmm

EleanorFarjeon · 02/07/2013 20:00

Mornink!

Is she Russian?

MollyBerry · 02/07/2013 20:02

I honestly can't pronounce specifically... (I do know I'm saying it wrong though)

TallulahBetty · 02/07/2013 20:59

Not Russian haha, Brummie perhaps?!

Dejected · 02/07/2013 21:07

arks instead of ask gives me hulk style anger.

Sonnet · 02/07/2013 21:12

Missing 't''s do it for me...

PseudoBadger · 02/07/2013 21:16
