Is this a new confusion? I've seen both words being mistakenly used in place of each other on several occasions, mostly on Facebook.

Have any of the resident pedants seen this before or am I right in thinking it's a new tooth itching annoyance phenomenon?

One that annoys me is "The reason being is ..."
