These ones/ those ones

I keep hearing this and it really grates on me. Is it incorrect, though, or just clumsy English?

What would you say instead?

How about simply "these" or "those"?

I think clumsy rather than actually incorrect. "These" or "those" are enough by themselves.

At least better than saying "them ones" though, as in Glenn Hoddle's "I never said them things".

It's incorrect (tautologous) - these or those suffices.
