I'm writing something for a US publication (my first time ever getting paid for writing - I am very excited!! Sorry about the exclamation marks but I am very excited!!! ) and I want to include a quote from A Christmas Carol that includes the word 'neighbours'. Should I use US spelling?
It just seems wrong to change Dickens's spelling, but if Dickens over there is published with US spellings then I will.
But in their spec they reminded me to use US spelling & conventions.
