I am trying to say:

[This is] where I was first introduced to their collection of Papyrus scrolls,

Is Papyri more appropriate? A quick google has left me even more confused.

Can you give me an example of where papyri would be appropriate?

It's one 'i', because it's second declension plural in Latin. It would have to be 'papyrius' to have two.

You could say '... was first introduced to their collection of papyri.'
