I saw this written in the comments section on an NHS information page today. It makes me smile to come across a misheard phrase like this. You can almost see the logic behind it.

(I'm sure there is another mishearings thread on here somewhere but I couldn't find it so have started this one.)

Yes. Sorry, I thought that was clear. Smile I like the idea of being in the mists of an illness though. Life can seem foggy when you're ill.

I thought the expression was "lost in the mists of time" - have I been getting it wrong all these years? Blush

Sweetest, that expression is right. I saw someone had written "...in the mists of chickenpox" instead of 'In the midst of..."

I wasn't very clear!
