Ouch! But no, it would say 'Were t'Countryside...' Wink

But were/where confusion seems to be so common now. Almost as much as you're/your, they're/their, etc.

It's amazing that whoever set up the website didn't read it a million times for errors. I would of.

No, don't be 'regionalist'! AngryGrin

NotMostPeople · 26/06/2012 14:45

Seriously?

Frontpaw · 26/06/2012 14:48

Oh dear. The upside is that they will now get lots of visitors to their site (or should that be 'there sight').

sooperdooper · 26/06/2012 14:55

Oh how depressing :(

GetOrfMoiiLand · 26/06/2012 14:55

lol.

I was expecting it to be near 'ull.

Bless them. Grin

sooperdooper · 26/06/2012 14:56

It actually looks quite nice though!!

Greythorne · 26/06/2012 14:57

Do you can spell.
But you are also prone to sweeping generalizations.

Frontpaw · 26/06/2012 15:05

That's the prioblem with spell check. It doesn't 'intent' check sadly.

GetOrfMoiiLand · 26/06/2012 15:11

I don't think Mary is being offensive and saying they can't spell because they are northern. Hmm I am sure that is not what she means.

I think it is because the way 'were' is pronounced sounds like you are saying 'where' in a yorkshire accent.

MarjorieAntrobus · 26/06/2012 15:25

Nope, it's not an 'oop north' thing. It's bigger than that (she says darkly). It's everywhere along with your/you're, it's/its, could of/could have, their/there/they're, and who's/whose.

MarjorieAntrobus · 26/06/2012 15:27

Miranda said all that first, o see. Sorry for the repetition!

MarjorieAntrobus · 26/06/2012 15:27

I see, not o see. Obviously.

MaryMotherOfCheeses · 26/06/2012 21:26

Oh for heaven's sake, it's not they're northern so they can't spell, it's a pronunciation thing. I thought it was funny.

"Where" would be pronounced "were"

Don't worry, Mary. The rest of us appreciated it. Smile
