Identify or identifies?

I wonder if anyone can help with this please?

I'm writing an essay and keep getting stuck with grammer (returning to studies after yonks!)

I want to write:

"The (name of organisation) identifies interpersonal skills as one of its six core competencies"

Or should it be:

"The (name of organisation) identify interpersonal skills as one of its six core competencies"

Or is either ok?

Depends on how you 'see' the name of the organisation. If it is as 'it' you need 'identifies', if it is 'they' you'd use 'identify', but also say 'their' not its IFYSWIM
'ABD Ltd' would look better as 'it' where 'Alpha, Beta and Delta' may read better as 'they'
Does that help or have I made it more complicated?

Oh HG bless you. That was very helpful, I did have to read your response a couple of times to get it clear in my head...but I completely understand now! Thank you.

Is there a website or anywhere online that I can get similar kind of help? I'm sure I'll have plenty more daft questions as I plough through this essay!
