AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!

Other typos are available, I know, but for some reason this one drives me nuts.

And breathe.

Haven't seen that one before.

I am just about to chuck out a Lands' End catalogue which has just landed on my doormat for their errant apostrophe as well as their crap clothes.

StealthPolarBear · 05/03/2012 15:48

Is it journies or journeys

MardyBra · 05/03/2012 15:51

Journeys, I think.

OTheHugeManatee · 05/03/2012 15:51

Journeys.

I've seen 'donkies' recently too. It makes me think of a very small 'donk'. Perhaps it's the antonym of a 'banging donk'

I don't like to hear '....between A to B ......' instead of '.......between A and B ......' A weather woman on Radio 4 said it this morning.

OTheHugeManatee · 05/03/2012 16:10

I know it comes up a lot here, but my other pet hate is 'reign in'. It's an equestrian metaphor, FFS, not a (garbled) political one Hmm

i had a rep from haitch sbc this morning who seemed to think he was talking to myself.

MardyBra · 05/03/2012 16:14

I always think of that as the estate agents' "myself". I've never met one doesn't use it yet.

OTheHugeManatee · 05/03/2012 16:29

My boss does this. 'Perhaps yourself and myself should have a meeting to discuss this...'. I always want to ask if the selves of any other company members will be joining us as well Hmm

OP posts:
nickelhasababy · 05/03/2012 16:35

at least that's consistent! this man said "me and yourself"
Hmm

StealthPolarBear · 05/03/2012 16:37

my boss used to say "call myself"
(to other people - just to be clear!)

nickelhasababy · 05/03/2012 16:40

oh i used to stand next to my boss in the bookshop when he'd say "ask for myself" to customers, blushing.
then tell him afterwards.
always wanted to correct him in front of them in case they thought i thought he was correct.

MardyBra · 05/03/2012 16:48

Yes, I would expect it from an estate agent, but not a bookshop boss.
