How many people do I hear saying expresso?!!!

It really grates me although I can sorta see why people make the mistake...

It's TESCO. There is no S. FFS the writing about the doors couldn't be big enough. But then, I am in a shitty mood and these things annoy me more if I'm already irritable.

Not helped though by the fact that I have a tassimo coffee machine and the espresso pods say eXpresso on them. I assume it's some kind of branding exercise but it bugs me! ESpresso.

And it is pronounced BrusKetta not Bru-Shetta! That winds me up no end!!!

Had a friend who would say 'Im going to The Asda!!!!!!' Arrrrrrrrrgh!!

Maybe Sainsbury's causes the confusion. you know what maybe it comes from the days when local butchers/grocers would be the person's name so to say you were going to Smith's for example would make sense. Sainsbury's still follows that.

I dunno. Just a possible explanation!!

ungyin instead of onion i cringe every time i hear it but then it does bring back bad memories for me so maybe thats why

i find it more annoying when people get openly annoyed by someone not pronouncing something correctly or spelling something wrong........

There is an M&S in Leeds with a sign saying "Expresso Bar" inside the store. It really irritates me.

I even heard Saint Delia call it expresso on one her cookery progs!

YANBU. Both eXpresso and bruSHetta wind me up. Then again, we live about 15 mins from the Italian border so these two mistakes are made only by tourists and new residents.
