Decisions-taken or made?

I had always thought that a decision was "made" but in the news these days they all seem to be "taken". What do you think?

Made. You make a decision you dont "take" one.

If you make a decision, it's made but you haven't necessarily followed through with it. If you have taken a decision, you have made it and followed through, I.e, it's had an impact. This what I thought anyway.

Interesting. If it were as easy as mumsnetting I'd ask the bbc about it!
