Surely it has the etymologic root from the Greek 'logos', meaning 'word', so the latter pronunciation is correct.

It should be loggo logically, but you'll sound a twat if you use it.

following the greek pronunciation, wouldn't it be lo - go (o sound like the o from 'top' in both cases)

that would indeed sound ridiculous. the word is English, so low-go would be right.
