Gifted

I'm not a pedant so feel free to correct my post.

Gifted used to mean gave a present. What do you think?

It's been bugging me but I'm not sure if I'm wrong to be wound up.

In what context have you heard gifted that is giving you the heebegeebies?

It is horrible, I agree.

I've seen it on here a fair bit recently but obviously don't want to point out specific posts (especially if they got wind and took apart my posts).

Examples may be, we gifted them a box of chocolates or we were gifted a car for Christmas.
