Polite notice

Why the need to give a notice this heading. I will be able to judge the politeness of the notice myself. Does this annoy anyone else.

IME it's usually a fairly impolite notice that follows

It annoys me, but I've always assumed it's so that people who don't look at it properly think it says 'Police notice' and do what it says/asks (though if they're not paying enough attention to see that it says 'polite' instead of 'police' I doubt they'll read the rest of it properly either).

"If you notice this notice you'll notice this notice is not worth noticing."

It is just making the point that you are being asked to do something that you might not want to stop doing.

But my butcher has one that says:

Polite notice

Back in 5 minutes

Why?
