You need to click on the "I think you will like this alot".

It's a very special alot and I think you will like it.

bloomingnora · 16/12/2010 16:41

Cosey. Familys. Help. Love that alot though.

bloomingnora · 16/12/2010 16:52

I would also really like to know what the hell a T-spoon is. I think I need help. I have had to hide about 25 threads due to hideous spelling mistakes in the titles.

TrillianAstra · 16/12/2010 16:58

I went Hmm at the T-spoon too.

It's not the letter T, it's a spoon for your tea. See also dessert spoon, soup spoon, table spoon.

bloomingnora · 16/12/2010 17:03

Maybe it is shaped like a T as in T-shirt? And they have lost those particular spoons? Glad it's not just me. I went Angry at the T-spoon. But in my defence I am very tired!

bloomingnora · 16/12/2010 17:07

I feel this is a safe place to share somthing.

My MIL says marshmellows.

It makes me weep.

bloomingnora · 16/12/2010 17:09

Not a safe place for a typo, though. Whoops!

GinSlinger · 16/12/2010 17:10

thank you Mrs Ruffalo, now if you could see your way clear to sorting out the would of/should of brigade I'll be forever in your debt.

GinSlinger · 16/12/2010 17:12

I apologise for spelling your name incorrectly especially in this hallowed place.

OliviaMarysBoyChild · 16/12/2010 17:17

floozie- bought/brought is easy to remember because you have a BRING and BUY sale.
You brought something from home and Bought something else while you were there...

bisybackson · 16/12/2010 17:19

I made a typo in my first post on this thread. I was going to slink off with my tail between my legs but have decided to bluff it out ...

Is your MIL v v posh bloomingnora?

bloomingnora · 16/12/2010 17:24

No, she's v v annoying. She calls Alphabites 'Alphabetties' and says 'toona' instead of tuna. She is lovely in many other ways. DH and DBil both say marshmellows too and are adamant that they are right. I was so glad the when DBil's DP had a rant about it the other day. Lovely to have someone on my side Grin

bloomingnora · 16/12/2010 17:25

And she calls Pom bears 'Pommie bears'.

JenaiMarrsTartanFoxCube · 16/12/2010 17:28

I'm forever writing "definately". It's like a compulsion - I try so hard, but out it comes.

A bit like James Naughtie and the Culture Secretary.

bisybackson · 16/12/2010 17:38

My DM has always described things as being 'greazy'. It drove me mad (and made me feel faintly ill). Finally, I called her on it.

'No,' she said 'It is greazy. It is spelt with a z.'

Erm. Nooo. It's not.

(I should add that I am 40 something. Perhaps I should have mentioned it sooner.)

GrimmaTheNome · 16/12/2010 17:45

I once had an American cookbook which used Tspn for tablespoonful and tspn for teaspoonful. So what's a T-spoon supposed to be?

TrillianAstra · 16/12/2010 20:16

Grr, and thread titles in AIBU

AIBU ?

That makes no sense! Are you being unreasonable your MIL gave your baby smarties? That is not a question! It's probably not a sentence!

Am I being unreasonable to think

Am I being unreasonable to do

Am I being unreasonable about

Am I being unreasonable regarding

mrsruffallo · 16/12/2010 20:24

I knew I would find kindred spirits here!

How many times have we read 'I am loosing....(my mind/temper/husband/house)'.

It's terribly annoying.

Do you think many people have Pedants' corner hidden?
Maybe I will start policing threads...that will make me even more popular Grin

I'm in a public place and it's really hard not to laugh at the alot. Thank you!

I need to admit to a bad one. I keep writing labor not labour on MN. I imagine alot of people Wink look at what I have written and just think Hmm.

Why do you think labor would fix the Housing Benefits issue.

Labor always leaves this country in a mess.

etc. My grammar is bad and my spelling is worse.

GrimmaTheNome · 17/12/2010 10:06

I'd overlook 'labor' in the context of childbirth as you might be American, but in the context of the British political party it really should be 'Labour'. Tch Tch. Grin

GrimmaTheNome · 17/12/2010 10:09

Just read the 'alot' link Grin - anyone on here who hasn't yet really should, its rather lovely. Thanks!

Gabity · 17/12/2010 10:16

My Oh's favourite is when he says 'watch you don't loose x' he says loss. No no no no no no. Right?

EauRudolph · 17/12/2010 10:31

I want an alot. Truely and definately.

beijingaling · 17/12/2010 11:13

Don't read any more of the alot website unless you aren't in public. I have spent most of the afternoon crying with laughter.
