Program(me)

I am British, and use "programme" as a matter of course.

However, I use "program" for computer programs. I can't help it: "programme" looks odd in this context.

Go on, flame me.

I'm with you on this one.

I imagine "program" came about because the major advances in computing came from the USA.

Just feel smug that in the UK we can distinguish between computer programs and TV programmes.

All right. Let's feel smug, but embattled. That is the ethos of Pedants' Corner, after all!

Same here - computers have programs, everything else is a programme.
