I have been asked what is the difference between:

I appeal the decision
and
I appeal against the decision

I have no clue and the longer I think about it the fuzzier it gets :)
Or is one of them plain wrong?

appeal is american is it?

as in "i will write you"

they just leave out a word?

I'm not sure, but the first doesn't sound right at all.

i mea, appeal as opposed to appeal against is American
am i wrong?
