'While' or 'Whilst'?

Shouldn't it be 'whilst'?

'Have a cuppa with the other mums while your children play'

Does it matter in the grand scheme of things? No. Does it irritate me? Yes. Which is why I've posted in pedants. I need to know.

It doesn't really matter, as long as you are consistent (so while/among, whilst/amongst).

Americans don't normally say "whilst".
