Some bloke on a TV programme has just said there should be an apostrophe in 'Dead Poets Society', making it 'Dead Poet's Society'

but IMO this isn't strictly true, is it?

Because the society is not belonging to the dead poets, it's about the dead poets... right? It's not their society?

He's got it in the wrong place anyway, but no, there's no need for an apostrophe.
