Are the spelling of these words different?

I find myself not writing "please accept my apologies" as it doesn't seem to sound right. Maybe I just need to learn to spell!

It's 'I apologise' or 'please accept my apologies'.

they are both acceptable, but apologize is more commonly used in the US
