DS just started reception.

Came out upset today as TA had said his water bottle wasn't his, but belonged to another boy in the class. Other boy said it wasn't his, but TA knew best.

The reason for the confusion:

DS's bottle has a sticker on the bottom that says ROBERTS (Not our actual surname, but I haved used it for illustrative purposes).

DS told TA it was his but she insisted it belonged to Robert.

Apostrophe anyone?

BTW I know it would have been clearer if the sticker had said DS Roberts, but because I am lazy frugal, I decided to buy surname only sticker as I didn't want to rename things potentially 4 times as I handed stuff down through my 4 DCs. Also we are the only Roberts family at the school.

Greif.

How immensely annoying. I suppose the only upside is that no-one at the school can now claim that punctuation doesn't really matter.

that is fantastic.

I Went in yesterday and asked the teacher if she was ok with my labelling, she was fine and obviously asked why.

I played it down and she gave me one of those resigned faces. Grin
