Is it just me or does anyone else get annoyed that American words seem to take over our own at an increasing rate. Why are all films now movies, fairy cakes now cup cakes and why is it seemingly quite normal to use phrases like "you guys" or the hideous "awesome".

I say enough of this tomfoolery bring back British!

I work for a US company and used to feel uncomfortable using their spelling. I realize now that I don't mind and must have become completely brainwashed.

I can't understand why they think that 'arse' sounds milder than 'ass'. 'Ass' is surely a euphemism.
