I'm getting married again!!!

I am getting married for the 2nd time in August!!!
DH(1) had affair and I kicked him out eventually.
Have been with DP for 4 years and we are getting married in August.

I have 2 DCs and he has 1 plus my 2 nephew/niece so 5 little people

Having reception in village hall as 3rd of guests are children (had no children at first marriage) and so need space for running around and bouncy castle.

My dilema is that I was going to buy a cheap non-special wedding dress (first beautiful dress in loft) but seeing as only 8 weeks left and no dress, I paniced and went to local bridal shop today & tried on dresses.
Now found the most beautiful expensive dress
DP says buy it.
I think of what else I could spend that money on.

BUT I did feel amazing in the dress and at 40 plus 2 kids, dont look quite as slim as first time round.

Buy it, OR link to it here and let someone else find you a cheaper version. Congatulations!

Iklboo · 07/06/2010 20:08

BUY IT!!!!!!!! And congratulations

LucyJones · 07/06/2010 20:09

I remember you too!

You deserve a fab dress, go for it!

your dp sounds lovely, congratulations

MarsLady · 07/06/2010 20:10

FanBLOODYtastic! You deserve every happiness.

Well done you!

mistressmiggins · 07/06/2010 20:10

thanks
my DP is everything I could have wished for.
he loves me for who I am and doesnt try to change anything.
he loves my 2 DCs and they love him.
His DD finally fits in and although unfortunately she doesnt live with us anymore, when she is here we are a happy family of 5 (plus dog!)

I am the sensible one regarding money- probably cos when you've been left to pay mortgage and care for 2 young DCS, it makes you wary but today I felt so fantastic in this dress and kinda thought that DP would be overwhelmed to see me looking so good.

The girls (my DD, my SDD and niece) would be thrilled to carry the train.

BUT its more the committment than the day.

My SDD referred to me as her mum on FB the other day and always refers to my DCS as her siblings.

Cant believe how lucky I am and how much my life has changed since 2005 Nov!!

Oh and buy the bloody dress! You deserve amazingly special. Now... BUY THE BLOODY DRESS!

LoveMyGirls · 07/06/2010 20:11

Buy the dress and sell it after, CONGRATULATIONS, I lurked on your threads a few years ago and know you went thru hell.

Btw I brought my dress for £800 and sold it for £400 (paid £120 to get it cleaned though) so really it was a beautiful dress and didn't cost as much as it would if I'd kept it. I probably could have got more if I hadn't been in a rush to sell it.

CMOTdibbler · 07/06/2010 20:12

How about looking for it on Ebay ? I was talking to someone the other day who booked her wedding when her DC2 was 2 weeks old, and married when he was 10 weeks, and bought her perfect dress for a fraction of the price on Ebay

mistressmiggins · 07/06/2010 20:13

Thanks ladies!

I remember all your support and help when I was going through such a bad time. Mumsnet was such a life line to me and to be honest, I havent posted for over a year cos DP moved in and we have been so happy

Sorry meant to say, Congratulations.

Please tell me your ex twunt, is single, lonely, and eating baked beans out of a tin in a damp bedsit. ??

expatinscotland · 07/06/2010 20:17

I remember you, too, Mistress, and when it all fell apart.

Well, look at you now!

Congratulations, MM!

Go on, buy the dress.

nymphadora · 07/06/2010 20:17

Congratulations ! I remember you way back on the lone parent threads. I remarried last year and am sooo v happy

fuzzywuzzy · 07/06/2010 20:18

sell your old dress then (if you feel able to), it will help fund the new dress, and as someone already suggested, link to the dress or describe it and we'll have a look see if we can find it cheaper????

mistressmiggins · 07/06/2010 20:18

no he isnt single
still with OW (who is still vile to me on the rare occasion I speak on the phone)
he has just announced that they are expecting in Sept.

I was very upset by that cos I would love to have another baby with my DP BUT we have 3 wonderful children between us and have decided that they have been through enough without having to share with another baby.

my 2 seem ok with the news (they were only told this week)

is he happy? not sure
will this new baby be hard work? OW is about to find out what it really means to be a mum

mistressmiggins · 07/06/2010 20:19

I totally feel able to sell the first dress - just never bothered. I think I will do that asap.

by the way, have still lurked myself to keep up with you all.

DP knows all about mumsnet

expatinscotland · 07/06/2010 20:20

He's a twunt of the highest order, MM.

You're much better off without him.

And, if you really want another baby, perhaps you should talk it over with the kids and see what they think, too?

Littlefish · 07/06/2010 20:27
