Heya!

I asked my regular cleaner if she could come and help out at a party we're having (bbq in the garden, 30 people + 10 kids) and I am wondering how much to offer her for that day.

She usually charges £7.50 an hour, weekdays, our party is on a Sunday so I think we should probably give her more.

She will be helping from 12:30 to around 5pm.
This is just to have an extra pair of hands to help out setting up beforehand and clearing up the plates/glasses during the party etc, she won't be expected to make tea for people or serving them, it'll be self service buffet.

Any suggestions? (she sorts out her own taxes by the way she is self-employed.)

hi would have thought that she would expect the normal rate that you usually pay as she agreed to work without asking for any more beacuse its a sunday. Howver i think it would be a nice thing to do to show your appricaation of her helping you out to give her a bit extra to say thanks then if you need to ask her again on a weekend that she doesnt usually work she would more than likely happyily agree to help you.i would probably suggest another £20 on top as a bonus and maybe a bottle of wine but its you who know her best. good luck with the bbq!

That's a good idea, thanks for your input.
I don't think she drinks but I'm sure she would like to bring some cake back home (and maybe a party bag for her niece who lives with her.)
