Do you feed parents?

Having a party for 3 yo ds in a hall and apart from drinks, was wondering whether I should lay on any food for parents (ie few sandwiches/crisps/bics etc) All I had at the last party I went to was a cup of tea and after two hours was starving! Obviously I am not going to go overboard with some fancy buffet - any ideas or am I being over the top?? TIA

sazzerbear I wish everyone holding a party thought of feeding the adults! We all end up having to eat our DC's leftovers... I'll be feeding adults at my DD's 3rd in September although, like you, I won't be going overboard.

I think you should feed the adults as well. When DS had his party earlier this year I did extras for the adults.

depends on your guests
nibbles and wine quite common here

We do a buffet for the kids, sandwiches, cakes, chicken etc... then for the adults I do a big pan of curry with rice, naan, samosas etc..

DS's party is June and I can't wait!!

When I did parties for little ones we usually had a nice chocolate cake/crisps/nibbles. I don't think it needs to be anything special, just something is appreciated.

Depends what time it is, if btw 12pm and 2pm sarnies and crisps
if btw 2pm and 4pm just tea and cake/biscuits

I think if you expect adults to stay (which I would at that age) then you should cater for them too. Having said that the parties I've been too where adults are expected to stay and are catered for are as rare as hen's teeth.

Yes. Its rude not to

A tray of sandwiches and a brew wouldn't kill you

Cheese and biscuits and a glass of wine would probably go down a treat. Easy too.

I want to go to Enchanted's parties...

Yes, feed the parents. Nothing worse than being at a party and having to eat your DC's left over scraps to stop you passing out from hunger!

I always feed the adults but have been to plenty of parties where you get nowt!

Thanks for all the great advice!
