Party bag dilemma.

Hi all.

It is DD's birthday soon and she is having 14 guests. One of the children invited has a younger sister who I think will be coming too though she wasn't specifically invited. We have know this family for ages and see them fairly regularly although the children are not at school together.

So, should I give this little girl a party bag (I feel I probably should, though the expence is already ridiculous, especially as I'm trying to be ethical and sustainable which means no plastic tat) or should I just breezily hand one to her older sibling and ignore any tantrums that may ensue?

Give her a party bag. It's the thought they will appreciate more than the content IYSWIM so even if it's just a fun size Milky Way and a balloon.

If you're sure there will only be one extra then I'd do an extra party bag (parent should be suitably grateful for your thoughtfulness ). If you end up with more than one sibling then just give them some cake and a balloon to take home.

Personally I think it's really rude to bring uninvited siblings but that's another thread altogether!

I'm going to give her a party bag, just with less stuff in it. Thanks for the replies Who and Sunny.

I would yes

My kids have been to lots of parties as the sibling where the parents have always given the other child a party bag too
