any ideas or proven wonders to include in a pack for my dd(14) and her friends? My dd's birthday actually falls while we are away with several other families who have children her age. She is also doing the teenage-hormonal-rollercoaster thing so I would like to do something a little special for her.

The girls will probably shut themselves away in a cabin in the evening. They won't have telly (only one in the communal living area) so wii / singstar won't be possible. but lots of little (inexpensive) treats?

nail varnish

face packs

galaxy

posh soft drinks

posh crisps

Some pretty mugs filled with a sachet of hot choc, mini marshmallows, a flake and a spoon

Mini lip gloss (1.50 each from ELF

Does any of you have a laptop so that they could watch a DVD ? Not ideal I know, but would be a choice

Maybe one hamper type thing (could the cost be split between all the familes?) with lots of pampering stuff? Probably wouldn't cost too much to put together something they could all use (ie full size products)

yup, undoubtedly someone will have a laptop and they will cosy up with that.

Love the mug idea. I was thinking about little packets of treats too... and going for something a little 'extra' is a fab suggestion. Thanks compo!

One of the girls isn't really into make-up (yet?) so don't want to make her feel like she should by stuffing their goodie bags with it. Nail varnish is a good idea, especially with summer coming.

How about some kind of board game...may sound lame but twister or something might be still be fun

frumpalicious · 16/03/2010 21:59

Various girly/celeb magazines they can flick through.

Nail art/French manicure stuff

Milliways · 16/03/2010 22:03

One of those cheap chocolate fondue sets - where the choc melts over a tea-light candle, with marshmallows & grapes etc to dunk.

Valpollicella · 16/03/2010 22:10

Does DD have an ipod and speakers? Maybe an itnues voucher to get some music they all like they can listen to (loaded up before hand if not possible to do while they're there)

mags.. great idea!

nail art... intersting! I'll look out for something like that.

Twister... perfect. Dd took our spare duvet with a twister board to a sleepover last weekend and apparently the children played on it outside . Luckily there was no evidence of this when it was returned.

Thanks for all the brilliant ideas. I'm a little bit excited now.
