Saturday Night Fever themed fancy dress....... I should wear???

I'm off on a mum's night out soon and it's Saturday Night Fever themed, I've been looking at 70's outfits and it just dawned on me that I might be looking at totally the wrong thing so could anyone tell me if I am or if I have got it right?! I've been looking at platform shoes/boots and brightly coloured dresses, quite short but not too short, with sleeves.

Any ideas of what I should wear would be welcomed. I have a pearshaped body so slim fitting jumpsuits are out
