Red Indian Squaw dressing up outfit...

DD (5) is invited to a birthday party that is a very "big" event. All the children are requested to dress up and she would like to go as a Red Indian Squaw (she will look particularly convincing with her English rose complexion, blue eyes and blonde hair... ho hum).

Has anyone got any good on-line leads for clothes or patterns or make-up ideas?

Make a tabard shape (out of felt if sewing not your thing)

Cut a v neck and stick/sew fringing along the v and along the hem line. Belt with some braid or something suitbale.

facepaint little red Indian marks on cheeks, plait hair and stick a feather in it.

you could also make a little headband for across forehead

Thanks!

I was thinking of plaiting her hair (she loves having her hair in plaits anyway) with some leather thongs/beads in them.

What do you think of this pattern? I could sew it when I am at my mother's house next week (she has a sewing machine, I don't, though I know how to use one just about).
