Hi,

Anyone that has done this before - I have found a perfect venue. Am intending to invite 25 couples. My question is mainly about wine as although it will be a paying bar, I want to supply some wine for the tables. As they charge £15 a bottle, what would be a reasonable number of bottles to buy do you think? I mean not everyone will drink will they, but don't want to be stingy...

Thanks,

Bloss

Half a bottle for every guest I think is how they work it

What compo said - I did this for mine last year and also had a choice of orange juice or champagne (OK it was sparking wine - I'm not made of money ) for when people arrived.

Thanks!

TidyBush, did you have a disco or a band? And did you do speeches? I have until November so lots of time to ask annoying questions. It's also our 10th wedding anniversary.

I had a 1940s themed murder mystery evening - hired a group of actors and then the guests had to follow and join in with the story throughout the evening and guess "who done it?" Once that bit was done I just play 40s music as background whilst my guests just chattted.

We didn't arrange speeches but when I had the whole cake with candles, singing happy birthday bit my best friend gave a spontaneous (sp?)one that made me cry .
