Would you have an adult party without the buffet?

as we used to have lots of parties and the last one was about 5 years ago, our DSD was about 6 at the time we last had one. We havent be able to afford to do buffets as money troubles.

Would it be odd to have no full-on buffet?

as i would love to say "just bring ya drinks".

depends what time it started.

I think you need to have something even if it is just a variety of crisps etc

If you aren't doing food you need to let people know in advance. There is nothing worse than arriving somewhere expecting to be fed and then finding out that there isn't going to be any food.

Hmm it isn't really a PARTY though is it? It's more just asking people to drink at your house. If you have good friends, you could ask them to bring a dish? But I think that you really will need to spend £50 or so or drinks and/or food.

I don't think people need a proper meal but they do need nibbles. Drinking makes people hungry. Why not ask them to bring theior drinks and one plate or bowl of nibbles. People don't mind doing this sort of thing. Pot luck party food

we invite people over and ask them to each bring something to share ;)
Something like tapas means noone has to fork out much. or have a pizza party - you provide the pizza dough, everyone brings their fve topping - my nate did this the other week, was great fun.
