Parents at 6yr old's party?

Hi,

My ds is having his 6th birthday party at home. Just a few games and cake from 3 to 5pm. Would you assume that the parents would stay? I don't know if I should make some adult snacks too? What would you do?

Also, do the games pass the parcel, treasure hunt, musical cushions and a pinata sound okay?

Thanks for any advice!!

Anyone's guess - round here they tended to stay (more so when there is a chance of being fed ) but I know from other threads that elsewhere that is not the norm at all. The best answer might be to ask, TBH.

i would thnk they'd go
i would ask enough adults to help in case they all go
maybe ge some mince pies or nice biscuits in case they stay but dont go overboard as btw 3 and 5 adults dont tend to eat much imo

I guess so stealthsquiggle. I just don't want it to sound rude IYSWIM? But if I want to know, I'm going to have to. Thanks.

they might stay if transport problems, and I think at 5-6 there might still be one clingy child (or parent), but usually would go IME as it is your home. probably different at a hall.

My 6 year old asks me to go.

I'm not COOL enough (I'm only 30 fgs!)

At playcentres I stay at peoples houses I leave my phone number and my DS1

we had ds 5th birthday party here and found about 1/3rd of the parents stayed combination of close friends of ours, people at the other end of town and those who had brought a younger sibling (at our invitation).

we had some cheese and biscuits, wine and beer available.

treasure hunt was the big hit as usual, also musical statues and variants went down well. we also had biscuits to ice set up for people who wanted to do it, and a few select toys out.

Thanks so much for your input everyone. Wine and cheese sounds good mazzystartled!
