Pinata - pull or bash?

Does anyone know which sort of pinata is best for a bunch of 4/5 year olds?
the ones that you hit with a stick or where you pull little ribbons?

Ribbons, they don't hit hard enough ime for the bashing to get enough sweets out before they are bored to bits by it all, anyway.

Stick.

Keeps the little devils busy for a few minutes. make it out of concrete and you get another few minutes of peace.

if you buy a ribbon one and the lucky child that pulls first pulls the correct string - isnt it over really really quickly?

I would go for the bashing one, you can guarantee it lasts more than one go.

Or maybe theres a tick to the pull ones?

def, the bashing one!! If its too tricky for the lil' ones then do it without the blindfold and limit to 3/4 swings per kid. We always seem to have older kids too so get them to do it with the blindfold and one handed etc!
