outdoor races/games for 6 yr old party this weekend.

We had planned a water pistol/pool party for ds (6), but the weather is not looking too good.

anyne got som eideas for races/games to entertain them so they don't run absolute riot .

outdoor and indoor ideas please.

Is pass the parcel too young?

musical chair/bumps?

6yo girls still like pass the parcel IME so I'd have thought boys would.

Obstacle course might be fun. Things to go under, over, round, through, etc.

Races: skipping, hopping, three legged, wheelbarrow, egg and spoon, sack (in pillowcases maybe), relay, running backwards, dribbling a football, etc.

Think typical primary school sport's day events.

Team game

Dress in gloves and hat, run to table, sit down and cut and eat chocolate with a knife and fork.

Wrapping a team member in loo paper to make a mummy.

Treasure hunt maybe

art and craft activities on different mats around the gardenn tends to keep the kiddies fairly happy - making crowns, place mats, door hangers etc sure you could get packs from hobby craft, wilkinsons or some such
