Timing for 4 yo party

We've previously done lunchtime parties at home with buffet food for adults & children to help themselves when they like. This year I've hired the park pavilion but can only get an afternoon slot.

I've also scored a free entertainer so I think we'll need to have a fixed sit down tea time. What time in your experience would be best for the party (can start any time from 1pm)and what time is best for food?

i would either do it between mealtimes and thus not have to provide food (ie, 2-4 or something)

or else 3-5, or 4-6 and just have afternoon tea

I agree 3-5 or 4-6 are good times.
