Party ideas for DD's 12th

Sorry, I'm sure there's a posting like this about once an hour, but I'm stuck for ideas. DD's birthday is on 25th July (so at least I've got time on my side!) and she can't seem to narrow her list down to fewer than 16 people. A sleepover is out of the question (thank gawd) but it seems like a very large group even for the cinema-and-pizza format. I know only about half of the girls as she's at high school now so has lots of new friends I haven't met.

Our house is just an average 3-bed semi so 16's quite a crowd, though hopefully the weather will be good enough for us to use the garden as well.

Any brilliant ideas?

How about a make up/hair party? Some cheap cosmetics, grab some girlie mates that know about makeup/hair, pizza etc.

Tbh personally I'd make her stick to a number limit that you are happy with.

Otherwise - is there a cheap room you can rent locally and do a disco?

Garden party? All wear pretty dresses and have afternoon tea on rugs in the garden?

Maybe I could make the tea party thing work - call it 'Tea at the Ritz' and do pretty cakes etc. I might even persuade DH to play piano in a white tux.

If you do the tea thing you could do the invitations in Tiffany Blue and make biscuits shaped like shoes a la the Pret a Portea tea (is that the Ritz or somewhere else?).

It's the Berkeley - just googled it. Will take a closer look, thanks.
